HAWK HOUSE 2011-12 CAPE SABLE ISLAND NOVA SCOTIA ANDREW KING
2012 AIA PROGRESSIVE ARCHITECTURE (P/A) AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
on the absolute southern tip of nova scotia, film is the driver for many of the formal, spatial and material development of the work. the house became defined as a series of lenses defining view planes and engagement of the landscape, the views and specific objects within those views. a raw, robust, context driven materiality is developed through an understanding of the community and its industry.
